PRRSv and IAv are highly contagious viral diseases that can cause a potential financial impact of up to $1 million per barn per outbreak in the swine and poultry industry. 

Another team led by Jiqin (JQ) Ni at Purdue University has received a half-million grant from the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research. In order to document air-quality issues surrounding pork production, the team is collaborating with the National Pork Board to monitor air quality in the swine farm industry.
